Is There a Dragon Beneath The Surface? - Issue 70 - 16th July 2023
I want to address those of you who seem to be doing everything right and yet still feel down, depressed, anxious or just not reaching your full potential. Many of you will be productive with your time, eat healthily, exercise regularly, meditate, read and generally do everything you believe is required to be healthy in body and mind.
Is there a dragon lurking beneath the surface? Are you willing to step up courageously and fight it?
Whilst these behaviours can be extremely powerful and help maintain a healthy and purposeful life; if you still feel depressed, anxious or unfulfilled they are only part of that maintenance. The other part is whatever it is that you are scared, nervous or terrified of addressing. It’s the darkness you have failed thus far to stare into; the abyss. Without addressing the fundamental core buried deep within us, the anxiety-producing, fear-driving and productivity-sucking leech that feeds off of us failing to look within ourselves and find what hides within, we will forever fail to find meaning. Just as one of the most terrifying mythological creatures, the dragon hoards gold, so too does our inner most secrets, we must therefore step up and face them so that we can find the gold that they guard.
What we least want to address, what we least want to speak about, what we least want to do, what we least want to think about, what we least want to accept, that’s where true growth, fulfilment and meaning is to be found. What are you hiding from? Is there a dragon lurking beneath the surface? Are you willing to step up courageously and fight it?
Keep On Struggling,
Gregor
Comedy Special I Loved - Tom Seguara’s Sledgehammer
The majority of the material from this Netflix special is from Segura’s sensational I’m Coming Everywhere tour. I saw this live in Glasgow and painfully laughed throughout. If you want a laugh with some close to the bone humour, give it a watch now.
Your Struggle Short For The Week
Quote to Ponder
We are all alone, born alone, die alone, and-in spite of True Romance magazines-we shall all someday look back on our lives and see that, in spite of our company, we were alone the whole way. I do not say lonely -at least, not all the time-but essentially, and finally, alone. This is what makes your self-respect so important, and I don't see how you can respect yourself if you must look in the hearts and minds of others for your happiness - Hunter S. Thompson
